As with everything in this world... people always find a way to get over and capitalize on others. Internet coupons are no different.

Printable coupons can be altered and if you get caught using a fraudulent coupon you can be held responsible for it. But if you are familuar with the do's and dont's you will have nothing at all to worry about. Coupons are a form of payment like money. It is the same thing with a dollar bill. If you get a dollar bill and it does not look right would you still try and use it?

Here is the scenario you find a great coupon and your print it out. You decide that you do not want to use it but figure someone else would so you be the good coupon fairy that you are and leave that internet printed coupon by the item it was intended to be used on. Except some people in this world are not as nice as the coupon fairy and they will take that coupon and alter it or more times then most just make copies, and distribute it. No harm done right? WRONG!

The coupon that you printed from your computer has your computers IP address embedded in the coupons bar code and no you can not see it. Once the coupon is used at the store it is processed through a clearinghouse, not the individual stores computer system. It is the clearinghouse that flags a photocopied coupon once they arrive there and are processed and there are multiples with the same barcode from the same IP address you will get cut off from EVER printing coupons on the internet and if the coupon was altered and used well they will come knocking on your door.... I have read stories about the FBI getting involved in coupon fraud but more so I have heard of a few people who where banned from printing coupons.
SO if you find one on a shelf in a store leave it there. If someone asks you for one do not give it to them. Even if it is a close friend. If you print it off and you give it to your friend and your friend loose it and someone bad finds it well guess what your friend is going to jail.

This is a major issue. I am not trying to scare you but this is real! This does happen! I think it is my dity to let you know this to make sure you do not become a victim!
