Organizing your Coupons

Which Method is right for you?

There are several different ways to organize your coupons but it all comes down to either full insert filing or clipping them and inserting them into a binder. I would say that you should do what is best for you but it more times than most it comes down to your lifestyle and how you shop.

Clipping does take time and the advantage to clipping each coupon and inserting them into your binder is you will always have them with you ready to go. You will be able to take advantage of unadvertised sales and deals by using your coupons for items that are marked down that you may have not known where there.  Also by clipping the coupons you are able to see and know what you have for you clipped them and seen them a hundred times while going through the binder and inserting them in. But this does take time.

BINDER: As stated you have to do what works for you but with me I usually get about 10 inserts together and separate them page by page and then once I got all the pages together  (10 of each) I then get out my paper cutter and snip away and then insert them into my binder. It takes time and the best advice that I can give you when using this method is to not get backed up because then it will be a big mess.

COUPON CASE: If you are only working with two inserts then you could always use one of those coupon cases that fits right into your purse with no issues. Having one of these in hand is also good no matter what method you choose to keep your coupons in order. Same with the binder filing you would seperate them as you wish to make your shopping trip as easy as possible.

BOX METHOD:  Yes some people do not put the coupons in a binder they find it easier to put them in index card size boxes again separating  them and filing as they see fit for them. They are able to save time and space with this method just make sure you do not drop them because that would be a mess.

The file system is a bit easier and does not take up much time at all. The upside of this is it requires nothing but a file box of some sort but the downside is that you do not have your coupons clipped and ready to go if you see something. Most people who do the file system are not really aware of the coupons in the inserts without even looking.

FILING: Just get your inserts and file them in a file box or manilla folders by date when a sale comes out look at the match ups through the coupon site of your choice and pull the coupons.

It all depends on what kind of shopper you are and how much time you have to dedicate yourself to this. I myself have gone with all the ways.
